John Porter, Ph.D., M.Ed., CGW. Dr. Porter teaches the Certified Grant Writers online course for the AGWA and is often the source of answers for the news media and other grant writers. He is frequently asked to be speaker by local and national organizations, and has been an expert witness for the FTC and some states Attorney’s General Offices on grant scam cases. Dr. Porter started writing grants 25 years ago as a Special Education Teacher. Earning a Doctorate in Behavioral Psychology, he became a national speaker and consultant in education for 7 years, having presented to over 40,000 educators. Currently, Dr. Porter consults with all types of businesses on improving their capacity development through grants and other business options; including Board training using experiential learning methods. He is a member of the Outstanding Business Professionals.
